Alone

"Jessie stood on the road, high up, and listened to the humming of the gigantic machines shaped as skyscrapers. She lifted her hand against the sun, trying to see what laid ahead. The tracker on her hip gave a steady bip, promising that the signal she followed was quite near. She began to wonder if she maybe should be down on the bottom level instead."
